New poker room will convey prestige to The Venetian casino

After series of trials, The Venetian will open 2.6 million dollars poker room. Kathy Raymond will manage this prestigious poker room since she has the appropriate experience. Raymond spent fourteen years managing the 114-table poker room at the Foxwoods casino in southeastern Connecticut. The innovative poker room sets its purpose on magnetizing top celebrities professionals as well as to become one of the top poker rooms.

What makes The Venetian new poker room so attractive? First, you should know that this poker room is very beautiful because The Venetian has invested a lot of money in the design. Second, The Venetian spent 2.6 million dollars for overall rearrangement; particularly 200 slot machines were removed to make room for 39 poker tables. Third, the management of The Venetian casino has decided to televise poker on various cable channels.

The new room opens with a tournament, featuring professional poker players and celebrities. Among the guests, you will find past WSOP champion Johnny Chan and poker professionals Chip Reese, Howard Lederer, Phil Laak and Annie Duke. The Nevada Gaming Control Board claims that revenue from poker last year was 140.1 million dollars compared with 98.6 million dollars in 2004. According to The Nevada Gaming Control Board, the number of poker tables has also increased. However, daily gaming win per poker table dropped from 557.90 dollars in 2004 to 547.44 dollars in 2005. Gaming observers do not find these figures problematic because casino bring nice yearly profits.
