Since poker tournaments for charities were regulated by the law, the number of those has grown amazingly. In Delaware, the first legal poker tournament was organized by fire officials in order to collect funds for the Paralyzed Veterans of America. The tournament is going to take place at the Clayton Fire Department, in Delaware.
This is not going to be the only tournament organized in Delaware. There will be another one, also held at the Clayton Fire Department, starting in mid November. Fire officials said that they were expecting lots of participants due to the great amount of poker fans in the area, especially those who love the new type of poker called Texas Holdem, which has gained popularity very quickly among poker players. Lt. Jason Durham, of the Clayton Fire Department, said that the more participants they get the more benefits they will collect not only for their charity purposes but also for the firehouse.
