The beautiful capital of Estonia, Tallinn, seems to have become the centre of attraction of the most important gambling groups in Europe, as well as the most demanding site for poker tournaments and competitions.
For the spring 2006 there are a number of events scheduled, such as the William Hill Baltic Open, which will take place in March 24-26, in Tallinn. This will be William Hill’s first Open in the Baltic. The main event has a prize pool of 240.000 Euros. The William Hill Poker, in its turn, will have a prize pool of 25.000 Euros. The latest counts for the European Poker Rankings. These tournaments can be reached through online satellite tourneys, which guarantee 20 packages worth 2.200 seat each, plus 1.000 Euros expenses.
Ladbrokes has also announced a Challenge this year in Tallinn. The Ladbrokes Tallinn Challenge will take place in May 19-21 in the Reval Park Hotel and Casino. The successful precedent of December’s Tallinn Challenge made Ladbrokes decide to repeat the experience now offering a 300.000 dollar prize pool up to 150 participants. The winner of this Challenge will participate in the Ladbrokes Poker Million Final and will receive a sponsorship of 36.000 dollars. Winners of the Monday final will receive 2.000 dollars buy-in for a freeze out tournament and two nights accommodation for two persons, including breakfast and dinner.
