Desert Diamond Casino will include a combination of rich cultural history and latest technology

Desert Diamond Casino is getting a complete makeover in order to take Entertainment in Southern Arizona to the next level. The revolutionary ceremony marks the beginning of an 18-month process in which the current facility will be converted into a state-of-the-art casino, hotel and conference center that includes amenities unlike any other in the region. The result will be a spectacular new 90-million dollars facility that will include the first casino and hotel operation in Southern Arizona. The current facility, which was the original Bingo hall, will continue to operate throughout the construction process.

This significant undertaking will be completed in two phases. The first is the construction of the new casino and hotel. The second phase will be the demolition of the existing facility and the construction of the new parking lot in its place. At its peak, the construction process will employ more than 400 workers. Once completed, the new facility will create more than 150 new jobs in the community. Gaming services will include 24 Blackjack tables, 25 poker tables and 998 slot machines. In addition to the latest in quality filtration systems, the casino will offer an entire separate smokeless gaming area for guests who prefer a smoke-free environment.

The completion for the hotel is set for October 2007. The 151 rooms range from standard to Executive Suites. The suites will be top-of-the-line, each equipped with a fireplace, whirlpool tub, a wet bar, and separate living and sleeping quarters. The hotel will offer its own bar, as well as a 75-seat coffee shop. Additional features include an outdoor pool, a gym room, three boardrooms that hold up to 20 people each, and a banquet hall that is large enough for 300 people, all equipped with high-end communication technology.
