Nothing was taken during a failed break in attempt at a bookmakers shop

Almost $40,000 in damages was done on Friday night to a bookmakers shop in Swindon England, in an inferior attempt to rob the safe.

According to the local Swindon Police an unknown number of people broke into the bookmakers shop in Coral on Victoria Road on Friday night and using power tools tried to cut open the safe and several of the video gaming machines around the gambling parlor.

By the amount of damage done to the safe and video gambling machines the Swindon Police estimate they were inside for several hours. Police think that there is a possibility someone saw or herd something because of the noise the power tools would have made.

Because of the damage and the investigation the shop was closed all day Saturday.

After surveying the damage the owner said that nothing except a few cans of coke was taken, police think the would be thieves drank the sodas while trying to cut open the safe.

According to the shop owner he knew they would get nothing because of the shops security, he also said that he was glade they spent all that time and effort and got nothing to show for it except for some soda.

They also said they were going to do everything they could to help the police track down the people responsible for the damage done to his shop.

Anyone with information should contact Swindon police at 0845 408 7000.
